Cooper-Standard Automotive's Torreon, Mexico, Fluid Systems Facility Wins MANN+HUMMEL Group Certificate of Excellence and Supplier of the Year Awards

Novi, Mich., November 14, 2005 - Cooper-Standard Automotive's Torreon, Mexico, facility received the Certificate of Excellence and Supplier of the Year awards from the MANN+HUMMEL Group. The facility is part of Cooper-Standard's Global Fluid Systems business and produces fluid handling systems for the automotive industry.

The awards were presented at MANN+HUMMEL's facilities in Portage, Mich. on September 16, 2005. Jose Luis Hernandez, business unit manager, Torreon, Mexico, and Bill Boughner, applications engineer, Auburn Hills, Mich., accepted the awards on behalf of Cooper-Standard Automotive.

The MANN+HUMMEL Group Certificate of Excellence is awarded on an annual basis to suppliers that maintain 100 percent quality, delivery, quantity, and service and support performance throughout the year.

The MANN+HUMMEL Group Supplier of the Year award is presented annually at the company's supplier forum to suppliers that not only have perfect performance, but meet or exceed its requirements in terms of quality, delivery, quantity, service and support, research and development, cost savings, collaborative team efforts, etc. Working closely with the MANN+HUMMEL Group, Cooper-Standard Automotive's Torreon, Mexico, facility improved part quality (achieved zero PPM's), completed an improvement program (that included error-proofing, multi-skilled operators, visual management, and the use of robust equipment), and maintained perfect performance for over one year with no quality or delivery concerns (achieved zero PPM's and a 100 percent delivery rating). Cooper-Standard Automotive was the only company to receive the MANN+HUMMEL Group Supplier of the Year award this year.
