In response to increasing customer demands, Cooper Standard ISG has started offering anti-microbial seals and related components to our industrial clients, leveraging and expanding our world-class design and extruding expertise with proven, industry-leading anti-microbial materials.

Cooper Standard ISG has achieved success with a new silicone threshold door seal tailored for healthcare environments. ISG, a pioneer in   commercial door seals, has developed a design that merges established UL 10B and 10C fire resistance, durable commercial-grade features, and other conventional properties with a novel silver-based anti-microbial additive. This addition enables the seal to effectively combat germs while maintaining its essential properties.

Mechanical properties can be modeled with computerized finite element analysis to ensure long-term performance, and anti-microbial properties can be tested using such industry standards as ISO 22196:2007 and ASTM E-2149-10.

Our anti-microbial “tool kit” includes silane-based, silver-based and triclosan-based additives, hand-selected in partnership with a number of industry specialists and can be compounded into both rubber and thermoplastic materials.
